Thought I'd share what I'm using to motivate myself at the moment when those difficult eating and training decisions pop up.
No matter what you're aiming for, you need a strong reason to get it done. 'I want to lose weight' or 'I want my own coaching business' isn't enough.
Always ask yourself 'why is that important to me?', 'what do I want to happen when that thing I'm aiming for arrives?', 'how will I feel when I get there?'.
So for me, whether it's getting up early to develop my coaching business, deciding whether I want another cream cake or if I have the energy for another gym session, I ask myself 'What would Oscar say?'.
He's the little man in the picture with me. My 1 year old son. Along with my daughter, I want to be a role model for them. Set a good example.
I want to be there for my wife and kids. I want to keep providing for them like I do now. I want to spend more time with them and do the school run.
I want my kids to have the confidence to try new things. Commit to them fully. Limit their regrets.
So if you're struggling to motivate yourself beyond your immediate goals, think about what truly matters to you and why you're ultimately trying to do all that stuff.
